As globalization takes place and nation states become more political, economic and socially intertwined, it is necessary to analyse and promote policy-oriented research and knowledge sharing on prospective thinking to support Africa and its relation to the world. The centers activities include hosting roundtables aand annual conference on Africa in dealing with diplomatic issues and international affairs. CPDIA deals with issues on soft-power, global peace issues, and global governance and leadership.
Through research, round table conferences, experts, and strategic partners CPDIA aims to shape and add to African and global international policy in order to contribute towards policy solutions. CPDIA aims to generate and share knowledge, relevant research, analysis and expertise though partnership platforms and advocacy.
Following the Africa Policy Institutes general goals, CPDIA aims to support stable and meaningful change and development through providing policy research, analysis and advice to those who shape, influence and execute policies on reforms in soft-power, global peace issues, and global governance and leadership.
The Centre is also preparing to launch a peer-review journal, The Journal of Africa Policy Review (JAPR). JAPR will be an interdisciplinary journal that publishes peer reviewed articles on a wide range of African issues focusing on public policy, politics, security and international relations.
